Defending Conservative Values in Brazoria County
Brazoria County Conservatives PAC supports conservative Republican candidates and elected officials in Brazoria County who are dedicated to cutting taxes, reducing spending, supporting law enforcement, and fighting back against the Democrat's dangerous woke liberal agenda. Local, county, and state elected officials need to be on the frontlines of the fight against the liberal agenda and their push to gain ground in Brazoria County. We cannot afford for Brazoria County to turn blue like some of the other counties in the Houston region. We need to stand our ground and fight back by electing strong Republican candidates who will fight for our shared conservative values.
OUR CONSERVATIVE PRIORITIES
Lower Property Taxes & Property Tax Reform
Every campaign cycle we see ads and campaign promises to “cut taxes” or politicians highlighting their record of cutting “tax rates”. The property appraisal system in Texas is out of control and taxpayers haven’t been able to catch a break. To add to the financial strain, homeowners have been seeing huge increases in their insurance premiums and as a result, citizens are getting taxed out of their homes. We need serious appraisal reform out of Austin from our state legislators, not just homestead exemption increases. On the local level, we need true conservative leadership from our elected officials on reducing unnecessary spending and cutting tax rates below the No New Revenue rate to provide real tax cuts for taxpayers.
Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency
Local governments and school districts in Texas have amassed an irresponsible amount of public debt through the issuance of bonds and certificates of obligation. When a taxing entity goes out to issue debt, they should always bring that to the voters and have the people vote on the measure through a bond election. A certificate of obligation is a way for a taxing entity to issue debt without voter approval and should only ever be used in emergency situations or very limited circumstances. We need to elect officials at the local level who are going to lead with fiscally conservative principles and be fully transparent in the way they’re spending our local tax dollars. We also need to elect officials who are going to make government live withing it's means and stop taxing and spending citizens out of their homes and businesses.
Public Safety & Illegal Immigration
Brazoria County needs tough-on-crime officials who are going to keep our families and communities safe. With what we have witnessed over the past few years with the spike in violent crime coming out of Houston and Harris County, it’s critical to elect officials who are willing to stand up and fight back against the liberal woke ideology that's letting murderers out of jail and has put our region into a public safety crisis. We also need conservative leaders who are going to support the federal and state government in enforcing illegal immigration laws by participating in the 287(g) program that partners with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) - certifying local law enforcement officers as federal agents so they can enforce federal immigration laws. It's time for Brazoria County to join the fight in getting violent illegal immigrants off our streets and deported back to their home country.
